Ghimire selected as Global Youth Ambassador

Kathmandu, November 30, 2017, Young social activist Ajnish Ghimire, Humanitarian Affairs Director of Solidarity International has been selected as a Global Youth Ambassador of TheirWorld UK, an innovative charity which helps children to fulfill their potential.

Through research, pilot projects and campaigning, Theirworld is at the forefront of testing and shaping new ideas to help give children in the United Kingdom and around the world the best possible start in life.

It includes the network of young individuals who are advocating and campaigning for education change around the world. The network offers passionate education advocates between 18 and 30.  The opportunity helps to connect with, and learn, from other young people, gaining knowledge and developing their skills.

As part of the network, Global Youth Ambassadors (GYAs) are encouraged to take action on global education campaigns with their world’s A World at School movement. The campaign was launched in 2014 and there are currently around 500 GYAs in more than 80 countries around the world.

Ghimire will be serving as an ambassador till November 2020 for 3 years term.  He will be advocating for child education in Nepal and also will be working for Project Hope: Education for Nepal, one of the pilot project of Solidarity International.

Project “HOPE” is a literacy program initiated by Solidarity Nepal, A registered non-profitable and social welfare organization dedicated for Social Transformation in Nepal and Supported by Solidarity International, the global coalition against poverty and inequality, with a goal to provide Educational Scholarship to 1000 underprivileged children every year in Nepal. The project aims in reducing dropout rates & improve literacy rate.
